Mobile Notary or Walk-In Notary in Elizabethtown: Which Do You Need?

For a single deed or a power of attorney, the travel fee frequently costs more than the notarization. For a hospital signing at 8 PM, it is money well spent. The question is not which service is better. It is which problem you have.

When should you call a mobile notary?

• The signer cannot travel. Hospital, rehab, nursing home, or homebound signings. This is the clearest case, and mobile notaries who advertise medical and jail signings exist in Elizabethtown for exactly this reason.
• A full loan signing at your home or office. Title companies often send a certified signing agent with the complete package.
• You need it after hours or on Sunday. Walk-in counters keep retail hours.

What does Kentucky require for any notarization?

What about online notarization?

Kentucky permits remote online notarization under KRS Chapter 423. It works well for straightforward documents when all parties are comfortable with the technology. Two cautions: not every recipient accepts a remotely notarized document, and county clerks vary in how they treat remotely notarized instruments for recording. When a recipient has specific requirements, confirm with them before choosing the method rather than after.

The short answer

Choose mobile when the signer cannot come to you, when the signing is a full loan package at your location, or when you need evenings and Sundays. Choose walk-in when you already have the document, when cost matters, and especially when the document also needs to be copied, faxed, or shipped.
